Floom vs Paired: a Paired alternative built on games

Paired is the best-known couples app, built around a daily question and guided programs. Floom is newer and built around quizzes you both answer on your own iPhones. Here’s how they compare.

When Paired is the better pick

If you want structure, Paired has more of it. Its Premium plan includes guided journeys with daily activities and topics with expert guidance, from household finances to love languages. Paired has also been around since 2020, has more than 200,000 ratings on the US App Store and works on Android, so it’s the safer choice if one of you doesn’t use an iPhone.

When Floom is the better pick

Floom is for couples who would rather play than study. You pick a quiz, each answer on your own iPhone and see your answers side by side, with stats on where you matched and what surprised you. Quizzes from every topic, the daily question, streaks and most widgets are on the free plan, and you can write your own quizzes with photos.

Floom is new: it came out in June 2026, has only a handful of ratings so far and is iPhone-only and in English.

Floom quiz categories: Relationships, Family, Lifestyle, Intimacy

Can you use both?

Yes. The apps overlap less than it seems. You could keep Paired’s daily question for check-ins and open Floom when you want a longer game together.
